The THOU(SA)NDS Executive Committee ("the Committee") sets out this Privacy Policy regarding the handling of users' personal information on this website ("the Site").

Article 1 (Personal Information)

"Personal information" refers to information as defined under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information — information about a living individual that can identify a specific person by name, email address, or other descriptions contained in it.

The Committee asks users to enter and submit personal information, such as name and email address, when using the "Contact" form on the Site.

Article 3 (Purpose of Collection and Use)

The Committee collects and uses personal information for the following purposes:

1. To respond to inquiries from users (including identity verification)
2. To provide necessary communications related to the THOU(SA)NDS event
3. For purposes incidental to the above

Article 4 (Change of Purpose of Use)

The Committee will only change the purpose of use of personal information where it is reasonably deemed to be related to the purpose prior to the change. If the purpose of use is changed, the Committee will announce the revised purpose on the Site.

The Committee will not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent from the user, except as required by law. Please note that the Site's contact form uses Netlify, Inc. (Netlify Forms) as its form submission infrastructure, so submitted information passes through Netlify's servers before reaching the Committee.

Article 6 (Disclosure, Correction, and Deletion)

Users may request disclosure, correction, addition, or deletion of their own personal information held by the Committee. To make such a request, please contact us via the Contact form on the Site. We will review the request and respond without delay.

Article 7 (Suspension of Use)

If a user requests the suspension or deletion of their personal information on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the stated purpose of use, or that it was obtained by improper means, the Committee will promptly investigate and respond accordingly.

Article 8 (Changes to this Policy)

The contents of this Policy may be changed without notice to users, except for matters otherwise provided for by law or in this Policy. The revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on the Site.
